Yesterday Before Today Big and Black

Before I get today's post going to give a quick run down of yesterday's run.  Nothing wild and crazy and was shortened more than I would have liked.  Right now though not overly stressed as I am taking it rather easy seeming how I have a slightly tender hamstring.

On the way  back I wanted to check out an old abandoned ski hill in the Hockley Valley.  My previous time there I didn't follow the main trail the right way and ended up at a really old ski club instead.  Pretty grown over not much use for running on, or snowboarding.  This time I got it right.

Heading up the Hemlock Side trail, Hoka Bondi B's rocking on my feet, I headed up the snow covered trail.  It was a relatively easy climb to the escarpment as I took the route to the north east.  At this point you follow the ridge line with a couple dips down into the revine.  Nothing too challenging so could move it out pretty good.

Bout 3k into my expected 10k run I climbed a small hill and noticed the ski hill was off to my left, Sweet!  Turning my head I look up the trail and see what appeared at first glance, a big log.  Wait that log has ears, um, hmmm, I think that is?  Seriously a bear, come on.

There it was sitting about 150m in front of me just off the trail.  Still as can be but still there.  Looking to see the route of the trail I debated continuing on as I really wanted to do some hill repeats.  Then again there was this little issue of a very large black bear.  Seeming how the hamstring was tender, yeah that's my excuse, lol, I decided to turn around.

To my good fortune, unlike the bear that chased the two girls back home in Nova Scotia, this one had no interest in me.  Till next time bear, the hill is all yours.
